nnnnAccording to CEO and founder Andre Durand, enterprises want to move fast with AI but cannot lose observability or control once agents begin operating autonomously across different environments. That is why Ping emphasizes “continuous authorization” rather than one-time authentication.

nnnnPing argues that AI agents do not operate within a single platform or identity boundary. They can call tools, access APIs, move between cloud workloads, work with agent gateways, MCP servers and even data at the edge. When an agent’s journey is this distributed, governance through disconnected control layers can easily create blind spots.
nnnnInstead, Runtime Identity is designed to bring policy enforcement as close as possible to the “point of action.” This approach helps enterprises maintain least-privilege access while preserving unified visibility across the agent’s full lifecycle.

nnnnOn AWS, Ping Identity is an ISV security partner and is helping protect AI agents built on services such as Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and other intelligent automation building blocks. According to the company, the combination of Ping and AWS helps customers create trusted identities for agents, apply delegated access rights based on least privilege and ensure agent behavior aligns with internal policies.
nnnnHart Rossman, representing AWS, emphasized that production AI workloads need identity and authorization controls that can adapt flexibly as agents interact across multiple cloud environments. In other words, the smarter an agent becomes and the more authority it has to act, the more enterprises need dynamic, not rigid, control mechanisms.
nnnnThis is an important signal for organizations using AI to automate operations, customer service or sensitive data processing. As scale increases, the question is not only whether the agent can do the job, but who is accountable for each action the agent takes.
nnnnGoogle Cloud and Cloudflare: extending control to gateway and edge
nnnnWith Google Cloud, Ping Identity integrates PingOne Authorize into the Google Cloud Agent Gateway flow to govern traffic between agents and tools. According to the announcement, enterprises can authenticate agents using delegated identities tied to users or service accounts, apply granular policies to interactions between agents, MCP tools and backend APIs, and centralize authorization logic for better visibility.
nnnnMeanwhile, the partnership with Cloudflare extends identity enforcement to the edge — where agents interact with public data, internal data and distributed infrastructure. Ping says this approach is built on Cloudflare’s global network infrastructure and continues the Zero Trust model the two companies have pursued to protect application access with strong authentication and simplified policies.
nnnnAs AI is increasingly deployed closer to users and at more edge locations, bringing identity controls to the edge can help enterprises reduce risk when agents access models, data and services across different geographic regions. This is a step forward from “protecting applications” to “protecting agent behavior.”
